Listening Room Construction Services
A listening room is a specially designed space that meets international acoustic standards for testing how we hear, assessing sound quality, and simulating presence. Unlike an anechoic chamber, it mimics a perfect everyday listening environment instead of a completely "no echo" space. It's mainly used to test acoustic algorithms like noise reduction and echo cancellation in modern speech applications. We've helped many clients create their own listening rooms and establish their testing standards, enabling them to quickly enhance their testing capabilities.
Design Aspects
Key Design Feature | Description |

Space response design | The reverberation time (RT60) in the control room is designed to be 0.2~0.4 seconds according to ISO 3382, similar to a high quality living room or recording studio. |
Sound absorption and diffusion | Installation of acoustic wall panels, ceiling panels and diffusers to minimize primary reflections and standing wave interference. |
Floating floors and acoustic walls | Create a low background noise environment (target <20 dBA) to minimize external interference and structural sound transmission. |
Acoustic Modeling and Measurement Verification | Use of EASE, REW, etc. simulations and on-site measurements (RT60, STI, Background Noise) to ensure that the setup meets standards. |
Seating and Array Configuration | Set up standardized listening positions and sounding points for a variety of test scenarios (e.g. ITU-R BS.1116, BS.1534). |
